Не смог удержаться, рискнул и заказал себе держатель мобильного от Cravenspeed — широкоизвестного в узких кругах американского производителя.
Суть — крепление к спидометру, далее либо прищепка либо магнит.
У нас с женой айфон 7 плюс и единственный возможный удобный вариант крепления это на магнит и горизонтально. В таком формате очень удобно. Хотя я и привык к вертикальной визуализации, но, думаю, перепривыкну к горизонтальному формату.
Обзор не перекрывает, от дороги не отвлекает, дотянуться просто. Примерно 1,5см левого нижнего угла скрыты рулём, идеального положения не нашёл, к сожалению.
Пока ок.

Not a Good Fit for R56 Mini Cooper

For a car-specific design (R56 Mini Cooper), this is a fail. If the steering wheel is tilted down just slightly , the nut on the back of the bracket contacts the dash (see 1st photo), and will tear/puncture it if it’s tilted any further. Also, the phone is partially blocked from view by the steering wheel (see 2nd photo), even with the phone placed high in the holder. How either of these issues were missed during design/test-fitting by Craven Speed is mystifying to me. Also, the phone is tilted back when fully engaged in the scissor holder, and this is not adjustable like on other phone mounts. For the exorbitant price of $85, I expected a lot more. Like $60-worth more than the $25 iJDMTOY Tach-mount R56 phone mount I have currently and apparently will be sticking with.To their credit, the arm is very sturdy, and the «scissor» phone holder grips the phone (mine is an iPhone 7-Plus in an Otterbox case) very well. If they correct the design, I’d purchase a redesigned model. The quality is there, but the design is a miss.

The reason I bought this product was because it was recommended on MINI Takes the States from another MINI owner. The product itself is solid. All metal and came packaged well. My big grip is it did not come with any instructions and there was o Lu a little card that says email the Cravenspeed for instructions. It would have been better to have a QR scan code that took you to a YouTube video. Not a deal breaker for me just something that would help other customers in the future. (There are several videos on YouTube by users that can help too). Install was a pain and took longer than expected. Attaching the phone holder on the tachometer was simple and easy. The hard part was getting the T screws back in and secured. The right side gave me the worse. The phone holder blocked the right side and I wasn’t able to put the T driver far enough to turn the screw and secure. I managed to use an Allen wrench to finally get it secure. Again not a deal breaker just some issues with securing the product.my iPhone fits great and there are no issues. It can be put in portrait or landscape mode easily. If you have an R56 or R53 I would recommend this product but be warned you might run into issues with the install.

I tried a lot of phone holders from CD mounts and various vent mounts. This one beats them all. Very beautifully designed and flawlessly manufactured it holds my phone perfectly secure. The magnetic connection is effortless to mount and unmount as well as being easy to adjust the phone viewing position angle. It was easy to install and I could not be more pleased.

The CravenSpeed Gemini Phone Mount is the best place to view your phone without looking down. It mounts very easily to the tachometer cluster. The install only took less then 15 minutes. I have a 2014 R57 JCW and looks great. The only problem I had is with the mounting screws were too long to mount to the back of the tachometer, so I had to switch for shorter screws I had in my toolbox. I also notice that the adjustment screw and nut that adjusts the magnetic mount high or low is very close touching the dash pad at certain steering tilt adjustments just have to be careful where it might touch. The magnet is strong and holds my iPhone X w/case without falling off. Kind of pricey, but worth it to have access to the window switches and a cup holder back without the cup holder mount in the way.

I raged at the price when my wife reminded me I spent more on 4 other solutions that were less than optimal. So, I bought this mount. The install was easy. Took maybe 8 minutes. My big Galaxy Note 9 fits perfect. Driving like a nut, as usual, the mount remains sturdy. The arm is thick enought to keep the phone in place. Suck up and buy the best mount for your special car.

Despite the 3-4x cost of any other mount…this was my first Cravenspeed product for my first MINI Countryman…I felt like I shouldn’t skimp after watching several YouTube postings on MINI iPhone mounts…no regrets on day 1. The nerves were wracked as the install required unseating the tachometer…easy enough…but still…anyway, taking my time and ensuring, per the CS instructions that the tach is returned back into its guide rails…all is well. I wish there was a lil more room between the tach and the rest of my MINI, but that’s on MINI, the mount sits perfectly and I’m also happy I chose the scissor mount…no vibrations or noise in my cabin.

This mount is perfect. It integrated into my car without issue and it’s really well made. I have no regrets with the cost, it will probably outlast the car! It has no problems holding my iPhone 11 Max Pro (w/ leather case) in landscape.

The CravenSpeed Gemini Phone Mount is a custom fit, super high quality mount. Installation was a breeze with easy to follow instructions found on the CravenSpeed site. It took about 10 minutes to install in my R61 MINI Paceman. The finished install looks professional and locates the phone in the perfect location.
The Gemini Phone Mount by CravenSpeed includes a magnetic phone mount. This allows you to mount any size smartphone to your MINI quickly and easily. Due to the phone mount being designed specifically for your MINI, you can install this mount within 30 minutes and have an OEM look that fits in with the style of your MINI dash.

The negative — Magnet not very good.
The kit didn’t come with the advertised scissor clip. Called customer service, they told me clip was not up to standard and stopped making it. Fast forward to 2 YRS LATER, I see they have made improvement to clip and is available again. I called customer service again and told them my story and they sent out the new clip to me.

I have 3 Mini’s (R52, R53, R61) which I’ve been using the CD Slot magnet mounts in for years. They work great but tend to fall out of the cd slot often, and even broke the CD player on my R53 making it so it can no longer be used in that car.
Been eyeing these Cravenspeed mounts for quite some time, but honestly shy’d away because of the price.
Finally bit the bullet and ordered one yesterday.

Installed in my R52 in 5 minutes!
Fits the chrono guages perfectly.
I LOVE the “stock” aesthetic, which is very important to me and something I’ve always disliked about every other option out there.
Mini should’ve installed these with their cars man, you would t know it wasn’t a stock piece aside from the logo on the magnet mount itself.
After installing, went inside and ordered 2 more for the R53 and R61.
Can’t recommend this product enough!

Fits 2006 (R52) convertible just fine

I’ve tried a bunch of gadgets, even mini-specific ones, that didn’t fit well in the 2006 convertible; it’s just a special interior in many ways. However, mount is *perfect* and straightforward to install (definitely use a magnetic screwdriver… and it’s easier to see the main tach screws by looking through the front windshield from *outside* the car 
Scissors mount holds the enormous Note 9 easily — if it weren’t for the bixby button, it would be perfect, but instead I have to clamp the phone a bit off-center, so it rotates a little when cornering; I’m sure I can tighten the pivot once I decide if I want it vertical or horizontal, I just haven’t tried yet.
I’d never heard of cravenspeed before stumbling across this mount — they’ve got a bunch of novel camera mounts that attach in surprising places, nice to see such ingeniously designed products for a 13-year old car.

Easy to install, works just fine. You have to be careful where the metal plate goes into your phone case, because it can block wireless charging. Also when tightening the magnetic mount itself, if it turns slightly the wrong way it can unscrew itself meaning you have to take it apart and reassemble the whole thing tightly.
